If you have a compliance department you need to worry about, this is not the podcast for you to be a guest on. We’re looking for guests who can just tell it like it is, say whatever pops into their heads, and be as honest and open as they’re comfortable with. And if you are licensed and there are a few things you truly cannot say on tape, that is fine too. Just tell us where the lines are before we record, and then be as real as you can inside them.
Are you over 60 and trying to figure out what to do about the money and what to do about the house? Or are you the person other people call when they need to figure that out? Either way, we would like to talk to you. Sixty Plus Uncensored is a show about the two biggest decisions of your sixties, and we are looking for guests who will discuss them the way people actually discuss them at the kitchen table, not the way they get discussed in a glossy brochure. Whether you have hard-won wisdom, a story that did not go according to plan, or you just want to rant (or laugh) about the absurdity of it all, we would love to hear from you.
Sixty Plus Uncensored features candid conversations about retirement income, Social Security, Medicare, long term care, the family home, downsizing, senior living, moving closer to the kids, and every awkward money-and-house conversation in between. We leave plenty of room for the things that make it all worth it too, like travel, second acts, dating, health, and legacy. What Is Sixty Plus Uncensored?
A (someday) wildly popular podcast and YouTube channel for (at least semi-) affluent, (likely) home-owning adults aged 60+ who are staring down the two biggest decisions of this stage of life: what to do about the money, and what to do about the house. They have open minds and a good sense of humor, and they are tired of being talked to like they are fragile. Guests are expected to bring a mix of value, entertainment, and authenticity.
And you know how they say, “Dance like nobody is watching?” Our motto on Sixty Plus Uncensored is, “Talk like nobody is listening.” Because that’s the case – rest assured, nobody actually listens to Sixty Plus Uncensored, so guests should feel free to be completely unscripted, natural, and unfettered!
Who We’re Looking For
There are two kinds of guests on this show, and we need both of them.
People who know how this stuff actually works. Financial planners and retirement income specialists, elder law and estate attorneys, Medicare and long term care insurance folks, senior living operators, geriatric care managers, tax pros, move managers, estate sale and downsizing companies, contractors who do aging-in-place work, and anyone else who spends their days helping people over 60 make decisions about money or housing. If you can tell us what you really see people get wrong, without retreating into approved language, you will do very well here.
People who have lived it. You sold the house you raised your kids in, or you did not sell it and you are starting to wonder about that. You retired on less than the calculators said you needed and it worked out anyway. You moved across the country to be near the grandkids and have opinions about that now. You got hit with a care bill nobody warned you about. You reinvented yourself at 68 and it stuck. These stories land in a way no expert ever will, so if that is you, we want to hear it.
And if you do not fit either bucket but you are over 60 and interesting, pitch us anyway. Some of our best episodes started with somebody who did not match the description.
Who You’re Speaking To

- Mindset: Open-minded, looking for relevance, entertainment, straight answers about the money and the house, and connection
- Values: Trust, simplicity, independence, wit, depth, and maybe a little nostalgia
Key Characteristics
✅ Smart but not stuffy. You’re talking to people who’ve seen it all. Give them substance, but deliver it with humor, warmth, and authenticity.
✅ Conversational, not preachy. You’re not giving a TED Talk, it’s more like gossiping with your favorite uncle who is OK with maybe being a little inappropriate from time to time.
✅ A blend of utility and entertainment Offer real value—things they can use—but wrap it in something fun or funny.
✅ Specific beats general. Real numbers, real timelines, real names of things. “It depends” is how every other show about aging puts its audience to sleep.
Show Format
We record the show using riverside.fm which is a platform built especially for recording video podcasts and runs inside a web browser. There’s no software to download, but you should have a quiet place with good lighting, reasonably high bandwidth, and a webcam that’s capable of high-definition (1080p) recording.
The shows are typically about 45 minutes long. It will begin with a short introduction of the podcast, the host, and then the guest. The first question will typically be, “So, Guest – how old are you?” You can answer honestly, or not answer at all, but it’s just a way to get the conversation started.
Rather than going from a prepared list of questions, we prefer to have a loose, small set of topics to discuss – from which will spring impromptu, genuine conversations about issues that people over 60 (or those who care about them) will find compelling enough to listen all the way through, become subscribers, and share your episode with their friends and family. Most conversations circle back to the money or the house at some point, because that is what our audience is genuinely wrestling with, but we get there through conversation rather than an interview script.
One Last Thing
Sixty Plus Uncensored is about honest, real conversations — the kind you can’t always have in polite company. But ‘uncensored’ doesn’t mean hateful. We don’t provide a stage for racism, antisemitism, homophobia, misogyny, or any form of discrimination. If that’s your bag, you’ll need to take it elsewhere. Our goal is to connect, enlighten, and affirm, not tear down. If you can bring candor without cruelty, you’ll feel right at home here.
